The San Bernardino-based taxi company has been in existence since 1935 and employs individuals who have worked there for over 15 years.

The company’s overall goal for Bonnie Oehl was to clean out the sidewalk planters along the street outlining the school and plant 40 new trees which they donated.

“This is our first time with the San Bernardino Beautification and we’re really excited and really proud to be a sponsor and to help out in any way we can,” said Caitlin Alexander, public relations specialist for Bell and Yellow Cab.

Volunteers at the event, which included Bell and Yellow Cab employees and Bonnie Oehl students, participated in a wide-range of activities which included pulling weeds by hand and picking up bags of trash.

Alexander noted how special it was for her company to interact with the other volunteers.

“As a business we really need to be connected to the people we serve and give back to the communities that host us.¬†[Doing this] connects us with¬†people we otherwise would not have connected [with]. This is a great way to get to know one another,” she reflected.

“Getting involved [also] shows that we have pride in the community,” she continued.
