The Inland Empire 66ers, with help from the city of San Bernardino, welcomed fans of all ages to their second annual holiday movie screening. This year’s featured film was the holiday classic “The Polar Express.”

“It’s just another event, one of the many that we do throughout the year. We try to put on as many events here for the community,” said Sam Farber, broadcasting director for the Inland Empire 66ers.

The event was free of charge for the whole community; hundreds of families, both young and old, came down to Arrowhead Credit Union Park to enjoy a night of entertainment.

Along with the film, fans were also invited to share a cup of hot chocolate and cookies to tie in to warm holiday atmosphere of the event.

The 66ers also teamed up with the “Spark of Love Toy Drive,” setting up a donation center where people donated new and unwrapped toys for less fortunate and needy children in the community.

Santa also made an appearance, along with Bernie, and the 66ers team mascot, to help cheer up and delight the young children of the community.

“It helps keep kids off the street for tonight and I think it’s nice,” said Christopher Daniel, who came from Moreno Valley with his family.
